The N63TU engine is an updated N63. Same displacement and turbo technology, but several improvements increase its reliability and performance.

The BMW N63 engine is a powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It boasts an innovative direct injection system, ensuring a highly efficient combustion process, resulting in improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The N63 engine features BMW's Valvetronic and Double-VANOS optimizing valve timing. Combined, these technologies make the N63 engine a remarkable feat of engineering and powerful V8 engine.


The ZF 8HP is an 8-speed Hydraulic system Planetary gear automatic transmission. It is still used in a wide range of high end car models including: Aston Martin, most BMW Serie, Audi, Rolls-Royce, Toyota Supra, and many more. The ZF8HP was first introduced in 2009 and is a popular choice among car enthusiasts for its smooth and responsive shifting, excellent fuel efficiency, and reliable performance capabilities.


The Bosch MEV17 is an engine control unit (ECU), also known as DME/ECM/DDE. It is responsible for controlling the fuel injection, turbocharging, and other engine management functions. In order to tune the BMW X5 N63, it is necessary to modify the MEV17 map, through ECU programming, remapping or through the use of an aftermarket tuning box.
